‘Ice cream house’ for sale in Texas has people ‘freaking out.’ See it yourself
Have a sweet tooth? Or a high tolerance for whimsy and pastel colors? Just love Candyland? In that case, this house for sale in Waco, Texas is for you.
Listed for $750,000, the home has a reputation for its candy-coated interior (not real candy, of course) and is referred to as Casa Kumwesu — or Waco’s Ice Cream House, according to the listing on Zillow.
“Inside, soaring ceilings and expansive windows create an airy, light-filled atmosphere. The open-concept design connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen, making it ideal for everyday living and entertaining,” the listing details.
“The kitchen features marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, stainless appliances, and an oversized island. A walk-through butler’s pantry with shelving and counter space connects to the laundry room, adding storage and convenience.”
While the floor plan beckons, it’s not what’s eye-catching about the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home. It’s the bubble gum pinks, Tiffany’s shaded blues, spicy magentas, and, well, ice cream decor splashing around throughout the residence.
Other features, per the listing, include:
- Lovely primary suite
- Spiral staircase
- Loft
- Front porch
- Covered back patio
The 2,355-square-foot property caught the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, a popular Facebook real estate page that showcases quirky and interesting listings on the market. Folks either salivated at its whimsical sugary interior, or were a tad put off by it.
“Well, you sure can’t say they don’t have a theme going,” one person said.
“So this person loves ice cream, isn’t lactose intolerant, and loves to be cheerful and upbeat. I’m digging the vibe,” another admired.
“My 7 year old is freaking out over this house and now I’m in trouble for not painting our stairs rainbow colors and installing ice cream lights in her room,” someone noted.
“I love all the colors and the whimsy,” one person commented.
“No ice cream truck in the driveway?” another asked.
Waco is about a 90-mile drive south from Fort Worth.
