Tiny kitten unable to use back legs refuses to give up in PA. Oscar needs help
A little kitten in Philadelphia is a fierce ball of light despite some early misgivings with a couple of his legs.
Introducing Oscar, a wide-eye feline with distinct markings on his alabaster fur and a heart filled with affection — despite not being able to move his back legs.
“At just three months old, Oscar is already showing the world what resilience looks like. This tiny kitten faces life without the use of his back legs—whether from an alleged car accident or a condition he was born with, we may never know for certain,” the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said in a Sept. 5 Facebook post.
“A concerned stranger brought him to our clinic lobby. They mentioned he had allegedly been hit by a car, then walked away, leaving behind a little soul who refuses to let his circumstances dim his light.”
Feistiness and, well, being a kitten with kitten-like attributes, prevail and Oscar refuses to be defined by what he can’t do.
“Despite everything Oscar has endured, he remains what every three-month-old kitten should be: playful, curious, and full of life. He doesn’t know he’s different. He just knows he wants to explore, to play, and to be loved,” the shelter said.
“Oscar’s journey is just beginning. Our veterinary team is working to determine his best path forward—whether specialized surgery might help, or if we’ll focus on finding him a forever family who will love him exactly as he is.”
As of Sept. 5, the shelter has not announced if Oscar will be up for adoption or foster care.
