Desert house for sale in Texas has a surprise inside — a Boeing 727. Seriously
This listing hasn’t been seen on the Texas real estate market in … ever. A four-bedroom, three-bathroom home complete with an actual commercial aircraft inside has listed in the desert sands of Terlingua for $2.1 million.
Yes, that price is real. And so is the airplane featured inside the 3,040-square-foot residence.
“Own a one-of-a-kind short-term rental featuring components from a Boeing 727 aircraft. Set on 80 acres of land with improved hiking trails, this unique property offers unforgettable experiences for guests,” the listing on Zillow says. “The home sleeps up to 11 with 4 bedrooms plus a cozy hideaway in the former cargo hold.”
The house, which looks like it’s all by its lonesome on those 80 acres, was featured on Zillow Gone Wild, a popular social media real estate page that explores quirky and interesting houses on the market all over the country.
People were not only flummoxed, but fascinated as well.
“That’s actually pretty cool. Although I seem to have missed the kitchen and the bathroom,” one person said.
“As much as I’ve loved living in the Boeing shadow most of my life, I would prefer a converted chicken house or cow palace, with or without original residents,” another chimed in.
“This location screams = ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ vibes,” someone pointed out.
“Aw man, they clipped its wings,” one person joked.
“What in the Sam Hill???” another asked.
Terlingua is in southwest Texas, about a 75-mile drive from the Mexico-U.S. border.
