A witness at a 7-Eleven saw a woman quietly hand signaling for help while with a man, police said.

The person called 911 and police responded to the area, the Alhambra Police Department said in an Aug. 31 Facebook post.

Police said there had been a domestic violence incident, and the person recognized the hand signal the woman was doing behind her back.

When police got to the scene, they told the man and woman to go talk with them outside of the store.

Police said they asked the man to stand up for a pat down and he took off running.

The Glendora man had a warrant for his arrest and had a stun gun on him, police said, and he was arrested.

Alhambra is about a 10-mile drive northeast from downtown Los Angeles.
