20-year-old daughter of ‘Bachelorette’ alum Emily Maynard Johnson is pregnant
Emily Maynard Johnson is about to enter her grandma era.
The 39-year-old reality star was a contestant on the 15th season of “The Bachelor” in 2011 before being chosen as the lead for the eighth season of “The Bachelorette” in 2012, per Bachelor Nation.
Now more than a decade later, Emily Maynard Johnson’s daughter Ricki Hendrick, 20, is expecting her first baby.
Ricki Hendrick announced the exciting news on Aug. 26 when she shared an ultrasound photo to her Instagram Stories alongside a viral quote from “Love Island USA” star Huda Mustafa.
“Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it,” she wrote under the photo.
Ricki Hendrick also shared a video of the ultrasound and revealed the baby’s gender in the caption.
“My heart is so full, yet my stomach is so empty because she hates all food,” she wrote. “I’m convinced.”
Ricki Hendrick is the only child between Maynard and her late fiance and former NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, who died in a 2004 plane crash that claimed the lives of nine others, per ESPN.
Maynard learned she was pregnant with her daughter after his death. She was born in June 2005, according to Life & Style.
Emily Maynard Johnson has since added five more children to her family
After appearing on “The Bachelorette,” Maynard started dating automotive management consultant Tyler Johnson. The couple got engaged in 2014 and married several months later, per Us Weekly.
The pair have since welcomed five children of their own, including Jones, 2; Nola Belle, 4; Gatlin, 7; Gibson, 8; and Jennings, 10, according to People.
But even after expanding her own family, Maynard never forgot about her firstborn.
In 2024, Maynard took to her Instagram to wish Ricki Hendrick, born Josephine Riddick Hendrick, a happy 19th birthday.
“My beautiful girl. I’ll always and forever have your back. I love you and am so proud of the person you are,” she wrote alongside photos of the mother-daughter duo. “You’re a gift to the world!”
She also celebrated her daughter’s birthday in a 2022 Instagram post.
In the caption, Maynard described how she felt like she “was reborn in so many ways” when she welcomed Ricki in 2005.
“You brought so much joy to my aching heart. And now, you continue to brighten every room you walk in and make people, whether you know them or don’t, feel like they’ve known you forever,” she wrote.
“Your humility, grace, grit, and of course beauty, know no bounds and I’m so proud of you! I love you, Ki!” she continued.
