Lottery player thought she’d have 7 years of bad luck. Instead, she wins jackpot
Despite a recent string of bad luck, a woman took her chances with an Arkansas lottery game.
Suddenly, her bad luck is over.
The woman from Missouri City, Texas, who has been in Arkansas for work, won a jackpot prize playing the Mega Bucks instant game, officials said in an Aug. 18 news release. .
“Between recently receiving some difficult news and stumbling across a broken mirror, (the lottery player) feared seven years of even worse fortune,” Arkansas Lottery officials said. “Unbeknownst to (her), fate had something entirely different in store: her biggest instant prize yet.”
Officials said the woman doesn’t play the lottery often, but she decided to buy a few tickets while at Jordan’s Kwik Stop in Lonoke.
“Something told me to try it,” she said.
She won $30 on the first tickets she purchased, and she wasn’t done.
Officials said the woman used her winnings to buy more tickets, one of which uncovered a $100,000 jackpot prize.
The prize was one of three top offerings in the game, which costs $5 to play. One top prize is remaining.
Now, she plans on buying a home and ensuring her daughter has a comfortable life.
“Taking care of my baby is my No. 1 priority,” the winner said.
Lonoke is about a 30-mile drive east from Little Rock.
