Powerball player misses $609 million jackpot in Pennsylvania — but still wins big
A Powerball player in Pennsylvania won $150,000, just missing the $609 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched four winning numbers, the Powerball and the Power Play multiplier in the drawing Monday, Aug. 18, the Pennsylvania Lottery said.
The lucky ticket was sold online in Warren County, which is about a 345-mile drive northwest from Philadelphia, lottery officials said in an email to McClatchy News.
Tickets sold in Arizona and Texas won $1 million each.
The winning numbers were 15, 46, 61, 63 and 64 with a Powerball of 1. The Power Play multiplier was 3x.
Powerball jackpot rises
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $643 million, with a cash value of about $290.6 million, for the next drawing Wednesday, Aug. 20, the national Powerball site said.
More than 755,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
