Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban gave daughter two rules before making runway debut
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have been supportive of their eldest daughter’s modeling career.
But their support came with two conditions.
In an interview with Nylon, published Aug. 6, Sunday Rose — whom the couple welcomed in 2008 — was asked if her celebrity parents had any ground rules for her to follow before making her runway debut.
“There are two big rules,” she told the outlet. “The first was that I couldn’t explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16.”
Sunday Rose’s debut came on Oct. 1, 2024, when she walked for Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week, according to ABC News. She was 16 at the time.
“The second (rule) is that school always has to come first,” she told Nylon.
Sunday Rose admitted to hating the rules at first but has since grown to appreciate them.
“I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset,” she explained.
When asked what was going through her mind when she made her debut, the now-17-year-old — she celebrated her birthday on July 7, per People — gave the type of answer her parents would be proud of.
“So at my first show, while I was walking, I was actually just thinking about the amount of schoolwork I was going to have to make up!” the teenager said.
“I was really just hoping my teachers would let me have a couple days when I got back,” she joked.
Sunday Rose may have gotten her career started in fashion, but she has bigger dreams to follow.
While she said she initially considered studying psychology at New York University, she admitted that her plans have changed — and might not be done changing.
“I have several interests that I am interested in exploring in college,” she told Nylon. “Filmmaking has actually been my dream career since I was 5, so I hope I’m able to study that in college.”
According to IMDB, Kidman has already made cameos in two of her mom’s shows — “Big Little Lies” and “The Undoing.”
She also voiced Lily and Isla in the 2019 film “The Angry Birds Movie 2,” per IMDB.
But when she’s not walking the runway or working on her film career, Sunday Rose is shopping at her favorite store — which is what she calls her mom’s closet.
“Oh gosh, if I had to pick one it would be impossible,” she told Nylon when asked to name the one thing she would borrow from her mom’s wardrobe.
“I take everything from my mom’s closet. I sometimes joke with her that it’s my favorite store,” she added.
In addition to Sunday Rose, Urban and Kidman also share a younger daughter, Faith Margaret, 14, who also appeared in the three films alongside her mother and sister, per IMDB.
Kidman is also a mother to two older kids — Bella, 32, and Connor, 30 — whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, according to People.
