An Alabama man posing as a pest control services salesman is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile, deputies said.

Randy Almanzar, 25, pretended to be a salesperson for a pest control service, then took advantage of a juvenile in Hazel Green, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said in a July 30 news release.

According to deputies, the man asked the juvenile to use the restroom and when he was let inside, he sexually assaulted the juvenile before leaving.

“This was a calculated and despicable act,” Sheriff Kevin Turner said in the release. “Let me be clear, anyone who preys on a child will be met with the full force of this Office.”

The investigation is ongoing, according to deputies.

Almazar, charged with first-degree sexual abuse, was taken to the Madison County Jail, deputies said.

Hazel Green is about a 115-mile drive northwest from Birmingham.
