Lottery player wins $3 million jackpot in Georgia. Where was ticket sold?
A Georgia Lottery player scratched their $20 ticket to reveal a life-changing prize.
The lucky player beat odds of 1 in 3 million to win a $3 million jackpot on the 100X The Money scratch-off game, according to the Georgia Lottery.
They purchased the winning ticket at a Chevron Fast Stop in Dahlonega, lottery officials said in a July 21 news release. The player claimed their winnings Friday, July 18.
It’s one of multiple big lottery wins for the Peach State in the last week. On July 19, a Fantasy 5 player netted a $865,050 jackpot on a ticket sold at a Publix Super Market in Savannah, the lottery said.
A Powerball player also matched five white ball numbers but not the Powerball to win a $1 million prize in the July 21 drawing, results show.
That ticket, sold in Forsyth, remained unclaimed as of Tuesday, a lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News.
Dahlonega is about a 60-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
