6 people walk into grocery store and beat cashier unconscious, Delaware cops say
Six people are charged after police say a Delaware grocery store employee was violently attacked while working.
Around 1:30 p.m. June 20, troopers were called to a Food Lion in New Castle after an employee working the register was attacked, according to a June 24 news release from the Delaware State Police.
The 18-year-old employee was approached by eight people, police said.
Six of the eight began kicking and punching the employee, causing him to fall to the ground, police said. The employee lost consciousness and the six people continued kicking and punching him, according to police.
One person stood next to the group holding a baby while another person recorded the assault, police said.
The group then ran out of the store, with one person threatening to return and kill the employee, according to police.
The group split into two vehicles and one was pulled over shortly after by police. Troopers determined the four people in the car were involved in the assault and they were taken into custody.
Authorities took two more suspects into custody June 22.
Luchiano Diaz, 21, Jazzlyn Johnson, 20, Joseph Brown-Terry, 20, Curtis Miller, 18, Quamere Britt, 18, and a 16-year-old were all charged with assault, riot, conspiracy, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct.
Attorney contact information was not available.
The identity of two of the suspects is still unknown, police said.
