MGK walks AMAs red carpet, then immediately leaves because of infant daughter

The musician known as MGK appeared on the American Music Awards red carpet on Monday, May 26.

However, after walking the carpet, MGK didn’t stay to watch the performances and his colleagues receive their awards. Instead, he went straight home to be with his infant daughter.

On March 27, MGK, born Colson Baker, and his then-partner, actress Megan Fox, welcomed a daughter into the world.

The former couple have kept the details of their little girl private, but while talking with reporters on the red carpet at the AMAs, MGK explained why he wasn’t spending much time away from their daughter.

He told Entertainment Tonight that he was feeling a bit of “separation anxiety.”

“Baby’s great,” he then told E! News. “She has a little bit of a fever, so I’m gonna just walk the carpet and go back, you know what I mean, and handle my business. Give her my pheromones, and let her heal up.”

“I was born to be a dad,” he added. “Yeah, it’s my purpose.”

In addition to his daughter he shares with Fox, MGK is also a father to a 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker, who has appeared on several red carpets alongside her father.

Fox and MGK ended their engagement in late 2024. However, they appear to be co-parenting their 2-month-old daughter.

“She’s finally here!! Our little celestial seed,” he wrote on Instagram at the time of her birth.
