Honey Boo Boo shares where she stands with Mama June after money was spent

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo, is opening up about where she stands with her mom June Thompson, better known as Mama June.

In June 2024, her mom revealed she was in “a dark place” in her life when her daughter accused her of stealing more than $30,000. Although her daughter had a Coogan Account throughout her childhood, June Thompson said that the funds Alana made while a contestant on “The Masked Singer” and “Dancing With the Stars: Juniors” were never fully deposited into the bank account.

At the time, Alana Thompson said she was blindsided that the money she was making was used for other things.

Revealing that she thought “100% of that money was going into that account,” she said she “worked really hard for what I have and the money that I have, so I was assuming or under the assumption she put 100 percent of the money in there, but that’s not how that worked.”

According to Sag-aftra, “a Coogan Account is a special blocked trust fund account found at a bank, credit union or brokerage firm” that minors can’t access until they are 18 years old.

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Alana Thompson admitted she was at her “breaking point” when she learned about the money.

“My breaking point for her was definitely when she took the money. I was done,” the now 19-year-old nursing student explained. “I thought never in a million years she would do that to me, because she just preached so much when we were younger that we have Coogan Accounts. We’re gonna make sure that your future is okay. And then it’s like, for you to turn around and do that. It’s like, basically, like a stab in the back.”

She shared that she often asked herself why she keeps letting her mom back into her life, but ultimately said that June Thompson is “her mom.”

Now she says she and her mom have come to a “resolution.”

“Right now, we’re doing actually really good, and I can say that my mom is in a really good spot right now,” Alana Thompson told ET. “I’m really proud of her and how far she’s come.”

The young woman has stepped away from Hollywood as she works toward a degree in nursing in Denver.

“I’m just living my best life,” she told People in an earlier interview.
