Older brother fatally stabs teen and attacks mom trying to save her, NY cops say
A 24-year-old man stabbed his teenage sister multiple times in their home, killing her, New York officials say.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Nicholas X. Allen is accused of second-degree murder, among other charges, following the May 4 incident in Buffalo.
The 17-year-old girl, whose name was not disclosed, was stabbed multiple times “to her upper body,” prosecutors said. She died after being taken to a hospital.
Prosecutors said Allen also attacked his mother and neighbors, who were trying to stop him, according to WIVB and WGRZ.
When officers arrived at the home, Allen tried grabbing one of their gunsbefore being tased, WKBW reported.
Allen was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree menacing, second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and multiple counts of criminal mischief and assault-related charges, officials said.
If convicted of the murder charge, prosecutors said Allen faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He is being held in jail without bail.
Authorities did not say what led to the stabbing.
The 17-year-old was a student in the Buffalo Public Schools, and a neighbor told WKBW she was set to graduate high school in a few weeks.
