John Travolta shares message to late son on what would have been his birthday
On Sunday, April 13, actor John Travolta shared a throwback photo of himself with his son Jett Travolta.
He shared it on what would have been Jett Travolta’s 33rd birthday.
Alongside the photo of John Travolta holding Jett Travolta in his arms as they smiled at each other, the “Greece” actor wrote, “Happy birthday Jett.”
“I miss you so much,” John Travolta continued. “Love you forever!”
Fans of the actor shared their own messages with him in the comment section of his post.
“Hurts my heart,” fellow actor Sean Maguire wrote. “He was so beautiful. Your strength is incredible. Sending huge love John.”
“Can only imagine your pain,” a fan added. “Parents should not bury their children. Such a tragedy! Strength and love bring sent your way.”
“This photo is so touching,” another noted. “Jett is such an angel! I love you so much, John!”
In addition to Jett Travolta, John Travolta is also father to his two youngest children, 25-year-old Ella Bleu Travolta and 14-year-old Benjamin Travolta, whom he shares with his late wife, actress Kelly Preston.
Benjamin Travolta was born nearly two years after Jett Travolta’s tragic death.
Jett Travolta died at the age of 16 while in the Bahamas with his family, People reported. The teenager, who was autistic and had a history of seizures, died after experiencing a seizure with on the vacation, the BBC reported.
In 2014, during an interview at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, John Travolta called Jett’s death “the worst thing that’s ever happened in my life.”
“The truth is, I didn’t know if I was going to make it,” he said, according to the BBC. “Life was no longer interesting to me, so it took a lot to get me better.”
Eleven years later, John Travolta’s wife of 29 years, Kelly Preston, died following a breast cancer diagnosis. She was 57.
