Hungry bear tears car to shreds looking for food, photos show. See the chaos
Bears are waking up — hungry — after a long Colorado winter, and they won’t let anything come between them and a meal.
Especially not something as flimsy as a car’s interior, photos show.
“Look at what one bear did to a car in Evergreen on Wednesday,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife Northeast Region said in an April 10 post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “It’s hard to tell what food attracted it because everything is torn up. Side panels, airbags, dash all gone.”
A photo taken in front of the car’s windshield shows the bear leaning over the steering wheel and peering through the glass at the wildlife officer.
“Our officer responded and let the bear out,” the agency said. Photos show a trail of destruction left behind by the bear in its desperate pursuit of a meal.
Evergreen is about a 30-mile drive southwest from Denver.
