The body of a missing woman was discovered hidden inside a futon with stab wounds, Pennsylvania authorities say.

Officers in Philadelphia responded to the Frankford Avenue home on Saturday, April 5, for a report of a missing person when they made the gruesome discovery, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

The 21-year-old woman’s friends had not heard from her since April 2 when a missing person’s report was filed, police told WTXF.

Police said the missing woman’s body was found wrapped in a sheet and shower curtain and stuffed inside a futon.

She had multiple stab wounds to her neck and torso, police said.

Blood was also discovered in the home, WPVI reported, but police said a weapon was not recovered.

No arrests have been announced as of April 7. A homicide investigation is underway, according to police.
