‘Quirky’ or ‘whimsical hodgepodge?’ Property for sale in NY impresses Zillow Gone Wild
A property that includes three houses in the middle of a wetland near the ocean in New York is drawing some eyes thanks to its storybook-like appeal and unique surroundings.
Named Burnett Lane, the three-acre property listed for $1.9 million rests in a secluded area of Brookhaven Hamlet, which consists of preserved land, the listing on Zillow says.
“As you walk throughout the dream-like grounds and soak in the peace and serenity, true nature and wildlife is all around you,” the listing says.
“From the deer prancing to the gobbles of the wild turkeys to the lush indigenous trees and bushes, this is an outdoor lovers dream! The many out buildings include ’The Marsh House’, a working greenhouse and plenty of out buildings. This is a property that MUST be seen to appreciate!”
All three homes were featured on Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page that highlights interesting and strange houses on the market all over the country.
“So quirky, I love it! And I would LOVE to have that greenhouse!” one person said.
“This is whimsical. I like it. A bit too rustic yeah, maybe… but the windows are beautiful and there’s got to be at least one secret passageway in there… right?” another asked.
“Well if this isn’t a Hallmark movie opportunity, I don’t know what is!” someone noted.
“It reminds me of something maybe a mixture of houses from kids stories like Pippy Longstocking & Howl’s Moving Castle... A very whimsical hodgepodge.” one person compared.
“I don’t hate it. Fits with the swamp witch vibe I’m trying to start for my golden years,” someone joked.
Brooklaven is about a 65-mile drive east from New York City.
