Dennis Quaid praises son Jack after movie leads box office. ‘Just getting started’
Dennis Quaid is one proud father.
On Wednesday, March 19, the “Happy Face” actor opened up about his son, Jack Quaid, who he shares with ex-wife actress Meg Ryan.
Jack Quaid is currently the lead of the leading box office film, “Novocaine,” which opened March 14.
The movie also features another actor with a famous father, Ray Nicholson, whose dad is Jack Nicholson.
While talking with People, Dennis Quaid said he’s thrilled to witness his son’s success.
“I just talked to him last night. His movie’s no. 1. I mean, that’s incredible, really great,” the actor raved.
“He certainly deserves it,” Dennis Quaid said of his son. “He’s just getting started. You haven’t seen nothing yet when it comes to him.”
This comes after Jack Quaid told The Hollywood Reporter in December that his mom and dad were always thrilled about him becoming an actor.
“With my parents, I told them I wanted to be an actor and they understood what that meant,” he explained.
“They weren’t initially super psyched about it because they knew how tough it was for them, so they were like, ‘Oh jeez, of course we have another one,’” Jack Quaid continued.
“But ultimately they understood and were very supportive, so that I’m super grateful for.”
In a 2024 interview on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” Dennis Quaid admitted he sees his son being much more successful than both himself and Ryan.
“I don’t regret anything about my marriage to Meg,” Dennis Quaid told Wallace, “and we got Jack Quaid out of it who is really going on to maybe eclipse both of us.”
In addition to Jack Quaid’s burgeoning success, Dennis Quaid is also promoting his own new show on Paramount+ titled “Happy Face.”
His mom has also found herself in the spotlight again when she reprised her “When Harry Met Sally” role for a Super Bowl commercial earlier this year.
“Obviously, I am very biased, but no one deserves it more than her,” Jack Quaid said of Ryan’s return.
