Kate Middleton doesn’t seem too confident that her husband’s beard will last.

The 43-year-old Princess of Wales made her return to the Irish Guards’ annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in London on March 17 after missing the event last year due to her cancer diagnosis.

Middleton, who was named honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards in 2022, has been a regular at the parade since 2012, according to Good Morning America.

And while her husband, Prince William, wasn’t in attendance, that didn’t stop Middleton from commenting on his beard — which he debuted last summer.

“These trends come and go,” Middleton said of the beard while speaking to section commanders, according to People.

“I was saying to my husband, I’m not sure how long he’s going to keep his for,” she added, per People.

Middleton’s comments come less than a month after Jason Knauf, a former royal aide to the couple, offered his own response about the infamous beard.

“I love it. I think it’s great,” Knauf said in an interview with “60 Minutes Australia,” released Feb. 23.

“But I’ve talked to him about it — or tried to talk to him about it. He’s like, ‘It’s here. I have a beard. No further conversation,’” Knauf added.

When asked what Middleton thinks of the beard, Knauf replied: “If she didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be there. I could tell you that.”

The same can’t be said for the couple’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte, who wasn’t too fond of the beard from the get-go.

“Well, Charlotte didn’t like it the first time. I got floods of tears, the first one I got tears, so I had to shave it off,” Prince William admitted in a November interview during his visit to Cape Town, South Africa, according to People.

“Then I grew it back. I thought, hang on a second, and I convinced her it was going to be okay,” he added.

Aside from the beard talk, Middleton took the salute and presented medals and sprigs of shamrock to soldiers during her royal visit to the Wellington Barracks.

Once inside the dining hall, Middleton paid for the soldiers’ drinks and was even spotted sipping a half-pint of Guinness — the unit’s go-to drink — herself, People reported.

Middleton’s visit comes one year after announcing her cancer diagnosis and two months since revealing the cancer was in remission.

“It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal,” she wrote on Instagram Jan. 14.

Middleton has since returned to her royal duties and has made several appearances — including the St. Patrick’s Day parade — over the past few months.
