Former church is for sale in PA. There’s just one thing… it has ‘underground’ neighbors
Inside, a property for sale in Fredonia, Pennsylvania, is a treasure trove of bright colors, natural light and open spaces. Outside? Well, the outside is…peaceful.
Or as peaceful as a massive cemetery can be.
“Endless Potential! Rare opportunity to own a former historic church on 2.41 acres,” the listing on Zillow says. “This unique property offers versatile potential for commercial or residential use, making it ideal for an event venue, Airbnb, multi-unit conversion, or a spacious private home.”
While the listing doesn’t mention the quiet neighbor situation, it does mention that the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home — and its price of $220,000 — has brilliant features such as vaulted ceilings, “character and charm,” along with its square footage.
From the looks of it, renovations started on the house but weren’t completed.
“Many improvements have been started, but finishing work is needed throughout. The basement requires a full rehab but could be transformed into valuable additional living or event space,” the listing says.
The residence was featured on Zillow Gone Wild, a Facebook page that highlights unique houses on the real estate market across the country.
“Quiet neighborhood,” one person observed.
“Neighbors seem friendly, albeit a bit cold,” another joked.
“Surrounded by a grave yard. Better not dig a pool,” someone pointed out.
“Yeah, I’m out on this one. Cute former church, cozy vibes—but realizing my backyard comes with a built-in underground tenant situation? Hard pass,” one person said.
“Does it include the cemetery? Is there room for more?” another asked.
The property is being sold “as is.”
Fredonia is about a 70-mile drive north from Pittsburgh.
