Christina Haack says her ‘household is thriving’ since estranged husband Josh Hall left
Christina Haack says it feels like a 220-pound weight has been lifted from her home.
The 41-year-old HGTV star didn’t mince her words when asked how she and her three children are doing since her tumultuous split from estranged husband Josh Hall.
“The house is so much better, the kids are so happy. Like, everyone in this household is thriving and the kids truly are doing great,” Haack said while opening up in a recent episode of “Christina on the Coast.”
“Everyone’s just doing better since he’s gone… just all that negative energy,” she added.
Haack and Hall first met at a real estate conference in the late-2010s, per Us Weekly, and started dating in spring 2021, just a few months after filing for divorce from her second husband Ant Anstead.
They made the relationship Instagram official in July 2021, one month after the divorce was finalized, and Hall proposed later that year. Their marriage was confirmed by People in April 2022.
Haack and Hall filed for divorce in July 2024. They were together for more than three years.
During the March 13 episode of “Christina on the Coast,” Haack admitted that she did everything she could to make the relationship work. But in the end, they both had to let go.
“I truly tried to make that work and tried to give him the self-help tools, tried to keep him busy and tried to say, ‘Why don’t we start flipping houses?’ and all those things,” Haack explained, per People.
“No matter what, you can’t make someone else happy; they can only make themselves happy,” she added.
Haack’s longtime friend, blogger Cassie Schienle, praised her for “(stepping) out of that situation that was so bad and so toxic,” noting that it wasn’t an easy thing to do.
“Three divorces? Of course I didn’t want to get divorced for a third time,” Haack admitted, referring to her marriage to Anstead from 2018 to 2021, and marriage to Tarek El Moussa from 2009 to 2018.
Haack shares two children — daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9 — with El Moussa and a second son Hudson, 5, with Anstead.
“Look, I know you love a relationship. You love to be in love. Not one thing has changed in our 25 years of friendship or knowing each other,” Schienle says to comfort Haack.
“For real, you have your beautiful children and a beautiful life and career. Alright, let’s slow it down,” she adds.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Haack has opened up about her turbulent past with Hall.
During a heart-to-heart with El Moussa while filming their new HGTV show “The Flip Off,” Haack breaks the news to her first husband that she and Hall are no longer together.
“We had a blow up... middle fingers in my face,” Haack says in the Jan. 29 episode of the show. “Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”
“The kids literally asked me to leave,” she added. “They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around?”
Haack explains that she constantly feels like she’s “in a tornado” that she can’t get out of, noting that her life since 2016 has been “so hard and so horrible.”
“It’s really taken a really bad toll on me,” she continues with tears streaming down her face.
Haack has since moved on with her new beau Christopher Larocca, whom she started dating several months after her split from Hall.
The relationship was confirmed by People in January 2025 and they went Instagram official the following month.
“Some plane flights must be hard posted,” she wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a photo of the two cuddled up on a private jet.
