A lucky lottery player turned $30 into a life-changing prize in Georgia.
An Atlanta resident scored a $1 million win on the 2nd Edition Billionaire Club scratch-off game, beating odds of 1-in-1,090,909 to snag the second-tier prize, according to the Georgia Lottery.
They bought the winning ticket at the Glenwood Food Mart in Atlanta, officials said.
The lucky winner claimed their prize at lottery headquarters Feb. 28 and opted for the lump sum payment, taking home $535,398.06 after taxes, according to the lottery.
It’s the latest in a string of recent lottery wins for the Peach State, including a $3 million prize on a scratch-off game sold at a convenience store in Macon, officials said.
A Marietta resident also hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, winning $203,180 in the March 1 drawing.
Winners have 90 days to claim prizes on instant-win games and 180 days from the draw date for draw games, according to the Georgia Lottery. All players are encouraged to sign their tickets.
