‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ star Michelle Trachtenberg dead at 39
On Feb. 26, several reports confirmed actress Michelle Trachtenberg’s death.
According to police sources, ABC News reported Trachtenberg was found dead in a New York City apartment.
She was 39 years old.
ABC News reported Trachtenberg’s death “is not believed to be suspicious.”
Trachtenberg was an actress for the past three decades. She is best known for her roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Ice Princess” and “Gossip Girl.”
Though the cause and manner of Trachtenberg’s death has not been reported, sources told ABC News she recently under went a liver transplant.
It’s believed she “may have been experiencing complications” as a result of the surgery.
Trachtenberg shared her last social media post a week ago.
“I wanted to look like naughty,” she said of the throwback photo she posted.
Fans in the comments have already began sharing their condolences.
“Not the news I wanted to hear. Rip Georgina,” one commenter shared referring to her “Gossip Girl” character.
“Rest in peace, forever my favorite actor,” another comment read.
“You will be so missed,” shared another.
Trachtenberg did not have any children. According to People, she was last linked romantically to talent agent Jay Cohen.
