Man found dead in home had ‘unexplained injuries,’ Georgia cops say. Now wife charged
The wife of a man found dead at home is now charged in his killing, Georgia investigators said.
Diane Jordan Foster, 60, was charged with malice murder in the death of Joe Marvin Foster, 64, after an autopsy revealed “unexplained injuries” to his body, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
She’s also charged with exploitation and intimidation of a disabled adult, the agency said.
On Jan. 30, Diane Foster said she discovered her husband dead in the home they shared in Greensboro, according to investigators. The GBI began investigating the circumstances of Joe Foster’s death on Feb. 13 at the request of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
His body was taken to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy, which showed “unexplained injuries,” the agency said, without describing the nature of the wounds.
“The investigation determined that Diane Foster was responsible for Joe Foster’s injuries,” the GBI said.
Joe Foster was the owner of Foster’s Heating and Air and loved “cooking and collecting cookbooks,” according to an online obituary.
He “loved to dance and was known as ‘Disco Joe’ in high school,” it said. “His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren.”
The GBI didn’t release additional information but said the death investigation is ongoing.
Diane Foster was taken to the Greene County Jail.
Greensboro is about an 80-mile drive southeast from downtown Atlanta.
