Hoda Kotb says not much has changed since she retired from the ‘Today’ show
As Hoda Kotb settles into retirement, she’s shared a glimpse into her new morning routine, which now includes walking her daughters to school every day.
As she explained in her goodbye letter to her colleagues, Kotb’s decision to retire was cemented in spending more time with her girls, Haley and Hope, and her mom, Sameha Kotb.
“My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie,” she wrote in the September letter.
“I will miss you all desperately, but I’m ready and excited.”
Now she’s sharing photos and video on Instagram showing her dropping off her two girls at school. The Jan. 14 post is captioned with “School drop!!! Let’s goooo.”
She made another post a few days later.
“Another regular.. ordinary…spectacular day xo,” she wrote.
Then on Jan. 17, Kotb took to Instagram yet again, this time sharing a video of herself talking in her car, proving that despite retiring, not much has changed.
“So someone said today, a very wise spin coach said today, three things matter in the morning, very important: ‘what you watch, what you listen to, and who you talk to,” Kotb shared in the video. “’Cause that sort of sets your morning.”
“So what you watch, what you listen to, who you talk to,” Kotb reiterated before the video transitioned to Kotb in her room with the television set to the “Today” show.
In the comment section, her former “Today” colleague Savannah Guthrie responded to Kotb’s continued support. “We love you so much,” she wrote.
Others pleaded with Kotb to continue to make videos on social media. “Did not expect Hodas retirement to be my favorite show,” one fan wrote.
“Will you make videos every morning so we can still watch you?”
