Savannah Chrisley is opening up about her relationship with Robert Shiver.

During a podcast episode, Chrisley and Shiver talked about their family dynamic, including how they introduced Shiver’s three sons to Chrisley and her two siblings.

News of Chrisley and Shiver’s relationship became public knowledge in September 2023, People reports.

Shiver has recently been in the news after he was reportedly the target of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his estranged wife, Lindsay, who he had been married to since 2007, and her boyfriend, Terrence Bethel, according to law enforcement officials in the Bahamas.

On the podcast, Chrisley said that since the start of their relationship, the kids remained their top priority.

“That’s one thing you and I have made no bones about from the very beginning is that yes, I enjoyed spending time with you, and I want to spend more time with you. But our kids come first,” Chrisley shared during a recent episode of her “Unlocked” podcast.

“Yeah, we made that clear, I think from the beginning,” Shiver agrees.

“That was clear from the very beginning that it’s about their emotional well-being, what they need, how we can show up for them. And because we did that there wasn’t this, ‘Oh, let’s go here a weekend, there a weekend,’” Chrisley continued.

“We’re parenting 24/7. So that’s why I’ve seen some stuff out there of, ‘Oh, you shouldn’t introduce them to your kids so quickly.’ And people don’t take into consideration it’s easy to date when you have a normal divorce and the kids are split 50/50. Because if that would’ve been the case, I wouldn’t have met the boys for probably a year,” Chrisley explained.

“Yeah, I think that’s a big step in any relationship is bringing somebody new in front of the people that are 100% dependent on you and that you love more than anything in the world,” Shiver agreed.

“And I think you just have to make a judgment call,” he continued. “If you see a future with somebody, then it makes sense to introduce them because it’s important to me that your kids…”

“They have to love the person you’re with,” Chrisley said, finishing Shiver’s thought.

As for how Shiver ultimately introduced Chrisley and her siblings to his three sons, they explained that they first introduced the Chrisley family as friends of friends.

“Well the first thing is that my kids are kinda my whole world and so if it would’ve been a giant red flag that would’ve probably been it whenever we met,” Shiver began.

“Or whenever you met them. But it wasn’t. And initially, I introduced you as, ‘This is just a friend,’ and I think you had Grayson and Chloe with you” who were introduced as friends of a friend.

“Then things just kind of progressed and naturally it kind of led to telling them more information,” Shiver continued.

“And they’re very very smart,” Chrisley added. “Especially the oldest two pay attention to a lot.”

Chrisley revealed that the relationship between her and Shiver began when she sent him a message on Instagram after learning about the alleged murder-for-hire plot.

“All of a sudden this message came through and I looked at it and it was from Savannah Chrisley,” Shiver recalled. “And I was like, ‘That name sounds really familiar.’ All the message said was like, ‘Hey, I’ll be praying for you.’”
