The ‘Purple Wiggle,’ John Pearce, makes major announcement. ‘Little angel’
And just like that, “The Wiggles” family grew by one.
John Pearce, best known as the “Purple Wiggle,” announced that he and his wife, Jessie Adamo Pearce, welcomed their first child on Dec. 16, more than five years after tying the knot.
“Our beautiful boy has arrived, and we couldn’t feel more blessed,” the 33-year-old heartthrob wrote in a statement, per People.
“Jessie and I are savouring every precious moment with our little angel. We’re so thankful for the love and support from everyone,” he continued.
Pearce also revealed his baby boy’s name, Henry Nicholas Adamo Pearce, in a joint Instagram post on Dec. 17, while also sharing the first look at their newborn.
“Welcome to the world our beautiful angel. We have never felt a love like this,” they wrote in the caption.
Of course, the name Henry is far different from the name Pearce joked about giving his child in August.
“Pepiopi…” he said in the Aug. 29 Instagram video before calling his wife for a second opinion.
Pearce was referring to a Hawaiian name given to Jason Segel’s character in the 2008 hit movie, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
“Constantly thinking of boys’ names,” he wrote in the caption.
The announcement comes nearly six months after the couple revealed their pregnancy in a heartwarming Instagram video in June.
The couple posed with a sonogram photo before showing footage of them receiving a call from a doctor confirming the pregnancy.
They also shared footage of them popping a gender reveal balloon full of blue confetti.
“It has been a long journey but our beautiful angel has finally been sent to us. We are so full of joy and can’t wait to meet you,” they wrote in the caption.
Pearce’s little boy already has a big family waiting to meet him — and that includes his father’s colleagues.
“The Wiggles family has grown again!” the group wrote in a joint statement, per People.
“John and Jessie’s baby boy is a wonderful gift just in time for the holiday season. We can’t wait to welcome him on his first adventure in the Big Red Car!” they added.
The group was referring to “The Wiggles” primary source of transportation known as the “Big Red Car,” which would make baby Henry one of the luckiest kids in the world.
“It will be a full house by Christmas… we may need to look at getting an even bigger Red Car!” the group joked in an Instagram comment in June.
Pearce and Adamo started dating in 2012, two years after his dance-pop group Justice Crew was crowned champions of “Australia’s Got Talent,” according to Daily Mail.
They were together for seven years before getting married in October 2019.
In 2021, Pearce was one of four performers who joined “The Wiggles” as they expanded to a group of eight.
He has gained a lot of attention for his good looks and athletic build, which have earned him the nicknames “Big Strong John” and “Hot Purple Wiggle.”
