The Pioneer Woman is officially a grandmother.

On Dec. 18, home chef Ree Drummond and her daughter Alex Drummond Scott announced the birth of her first child with husband Mauricio Scott.

“She’s here,” Alex Scott wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her family of three at the hospital.

Revealing their daughter was born during the early morning hours of Dec. 18, Alex Scott continued, writing, “our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas!”

“We are so in love and forever changed,” the new mom continued. “Thank you, Lord.”

In the comment section, Drummond shared a few words, and revealed her granddaughter’s name, before turning to her own social media page.

“We will never be the same,” Drummond commented. “We love you, Sofia Scott!!!!”

Alongside a photo of her and her husband Ladd Drummond looking proudly at their first grandchild, she wrote, “Our first baby had her first baby. Thank you Lord, we will never be the same.”

Reality star Amy Roloff shared her congratulations to the new grandparents, writing, “Congrats. A grandma life is the best. I’m trying to keep up with all my grandkids.”

On her official website, Drummond added that she’s “honestly still trying to wrap my head (and heart) around it all.”

Drummond praised her daughter and her son-in-law for how well they handled the arrival of their first child.

“Alex did great, and so did Mauricio. We arrived in Dallas and got to see them in the hospital just as Alex was transitioning from latent to active labor, and it was so wonderful to see how much they love and support each other,” she shared.

“Mauricio attended to Alex’s every need, to the point that the rest of us questioned if we even needed to be there. What a gift to Ladd and me, for Alex to have a partner in life who demonstrates his love through such clear action.”

In June, Drummond admitted that learning she was going to be a grandmother wasn’t what she thought it would be like.

After Alex Scott announced they were expecting their first child, Drummond told People that “it feels totally different than I thought it would feel.”

She continued, saying, “since we just kind of became empty-nesters, Ladd and I feel like we just finished raising our kids — not even finished! A couple of them are in college, so we’re still raising our kids.”

Ree added that she and Ladd “weren’t necessarily in a big rush to enter the grandparent stage.”

“I thought when I heard the news eventually, whenever that would be, that I would feel more, ‘Oh no, here it comes.’ But instead, what I think about most is — this is my honest answer — just how happy I am for my daughter and her husband.”
