Yvette Nicole Brown brought to tears during wedding due to new husband’s surprise
On Dec. 14, actress Yvette Nicole Brown got her “happy ending” when she married her husband actor Anthony Davis.
According to People, Brown and Davis met nearly three decades ago for the first time before losing touch and reconnecting in 2021.
Following their re-connection, the longtime friends fell in love.
“I had no nerves when it came to marrying this man,” she exclusively told People. “He is the one for me. Absolutely.”
Now, people are taking note of a video that shows Brown crying on her special day.
In the video, Brown said she was overcome with emotion because of a surprise Davis made happen.
“My husband surprised me with my dad,” Brown told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s wheelchair-bound now.”
“When we were planning the wedding, I didn’t think it was even possible for him to be here and I just put him on my, I put a picture of him on my bouquet because I knew he couldn’t be here and he was here.”
“It was the best surprise ever,” Brown told ET. Brown’s father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Davis said he worked diligently with his father-in-law’s caretakers to make the surprise happen.
“The look on her face,” Davis said, “when she saw him, that was everything. It was worth everything.”
Brown praised Davis, saying she has “the best husband.” To which Davis responded, “I have the best wife.”
As Brown told People, due to her father’s condition, her brother Paris stepped in to walk her down the aisle.
“So my brother and his sister stood in,” Brown continues, “so it was nice to walk down the aisle toward family and with family, even if it’s not the family we wish we had in those roles.”
