Selena Gomez shares massive news after months of swirling rumors

Selena Gomez is sharing major news.

During the evening hours of Dec. 11, the actress and singer took to Instagram to share several Instagram photos with the caption, “Forever begins now.”

The first photo in the carousel showcased Gomez’s left hand with a massive diamond ring on her ring finger.

Gomez and her longtime boyfriend, music producer Benny Blanco, are engaged.

In the comment section, Blanco wrote, “hey wait… that’s my wife.”

Several of their famous friends followed suit, including Nina Dobrev, who also recently got engaged, and offered congratulations.

“YES !!!! Congratulations!!!!! So happy for you both!!!!” she wrote.

One photo showed where Blanco popped the question. Gomez is seen gazing at her diamond as she sits on a picnic blanket surrounded by Taco Bell and champagne.

The engagement comes after an October interview with Vanity Fair in which Gomez opened up about her life and health in a way she never had before.

As a result of her ongoing battle with Lupus that resulted in her needing a kidney transplant, Gomez told Vanity Fair something that she’d never shared publicly.

“I haven’t ever said this,” she said told Vanity Fair, “but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.”

Gomez explained that she has “a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

“It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone,” Gomez said. [But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.

“I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”

Gomez also talked with Vanity Fair about Blanco as engagement rumors had been swirling for months, admitting she wouldn’t change her last name even if they did get married.

While they weren’t engaged then, she did say that she’s “never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

In fact, despite both of them wanting kids, the singer said she doesn’t feel pressure to get married anytime soon.

“We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules. I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”
