Three out-of-state men climbed to the top of one of Tennessee’s tallest buildings, with one man spotted lying on the skyscraper’s logo, police said.

Officers received a call at about 4:40 p.m. Nov. 24, reporting three “suspicious” men at the top of the AT&T Building, the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department said in a Nov. 25 news release.

Using binoculars, police said they were able to see the men on the roof, including the man on the AT&T logo, but when officers entered the building, the men were nowhere to be found.

“Neither they nor a police helicopter crew saw the individuals there,” the police department said.

It wasn’t until a floor-to-floor search of the building that an officer found the trio hiding in a locked bathroom stall on the 24th floor of the building, officers said.

After an officer ordered the men to show their hands under the stall at gunpoint, the men were apprehended, according to the release.

Police said one of the men told officers they climbed the stairs to the roof after hearing “the AT&T Building was the best place to get a view of Nashville.”

They are charged with aggravated trespassing and disorderly conduct, police said. One of the men is also charged with possessing burglary tools after officers searched his backpack and found a crowbar and a screwdriver.

The AT&T Building is 33 stories and is the “tallest office tower in Tennessee, with the antennae spire reaching 617 feet into the air,” according to Old Town Trolley Tours. It’s known as the “Batman Building” because of its design, the company said.
