Terrified dog brothers clung to one another in shelter. They need a home 2 years later
Uno and Bailey have been each other’s support system while in the care of an Ohio animal shelter.
But after nearly two years at the Humane Society of Adams County, the terrier mixes need a home.
Bailey was rescued by the shelter in December 2022 when he had an embedded collar. It was so severe, he was barely able to swallow.
“Once removed, without a murmur of pain, Bailey sprang to life, and what a joyous well-adapted fellow he is,” the humane society said, adding that he had a “rough start” to his life.
Bailey is described by the shelter as a “heart breaker” who can also be “a wild little machine.” He is called the perfect family dog but will still need to be housebroken.
He was aided in his recovery at the shelter by Uno, who arrived a week after his brother.
But Uno, known for his big heart and playful energy, wasn’t always the adventurous dog he is today.
“Neglected and scared, Uno clung to his pal Bailey, terrified. Today he is healthy and loves everyone,” the humane society said.
Uno, like his brother, is looking for a home where he can be “someone’s special boy,” the shelter said.
“He has the best life any shelter dog could ask for, but he is ready for more. He knows there is more to life,” according to a humane society post.
The shelter said it’s not a requirement for Uno and Bailey to be adopted together.
Both dogs have their vaccinations up to date and are neutered. Either — or both — can be yours with a $75 adoption fee. Those interested can contact the humane society at 937-544-8585.
“We know these boys will find their homes soon!” the shelter said.
The Humane Society of Adams County is in West Union, about a 70-mile drive southeast from Cincinnati.
