Dog version of ‘Energizer bunny’ is up for adoption. ‘The kennel just isn’t her style’
An adventurous dog — the canine version of the “Energizer bunny” — is up for adoption in South Carolina.
“This girl will keep you in check and make sure you’re staying active,” the Greenville Humane Society wrote Nov. 18 in a Facebook post. “Thinking of skipping leg day? Not on her watch. She’ll be your very own personal trainer.”
Ahsoka the energetic pup waits for a new home after she experienced a rough patch. The shelter said she was rescued from another facility, where she was set to be put down.
“We were heartbroken that she was on the euthanasia list, especially at only 5 months old,” Emily Zheng, marketing manager for the humane society, told McClatchy News in an email. “Our team went and picked her up that same day and she has been with us since!”
Ahsoka, now 7 months old, has become known as an on-the-go Labrador retriever mix. She loves to be active and make new discoveries.
“We consider her the lab-version of the Energizer bunny,” the shelter wrote. “Loves running? Check. Loves hiking? Absolutely. Loves swimming? Well duh. Loves anything and everything as long as her legs are moving? That’s her.”
In other words, “if you’re looking for a couch potato, she’s just not the gal for you.”
As the friendly pup waits for a second chance, she has been getting a break from her kennel through Paws Around GVL. The shelter encouraged Facebook users to register for the program, which allows community members to take shelter dogs on outings.
“The kennel just isn’t her style, and she really thrives when she’s able to explore the world around her,” the humane society wrote.
As of Nov. 19, the shelter’s website still listed Ahsoka among the animals available for adoption. Details about the facility’s adoption process can be found at greenvillehumane.com.
