Pete Davidson debuts new look in rare public outing after removing iconic tattoos

Former “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson is looking a lot different these days.

The 30-year-old comedian was spotted at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, last week when fans noticed his arms, which were once filled with tattoos, looked a little bare.

While posing in a photo with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, fans got to see the results from a four-year tattoo removal process, which began in 2020.

MGK made a similar decision about his tattoos earlier this year. But instead of having his tattoos removed, he had them covered in black ink.

Fans were also quick to point out the red “FDNY” shirt Davidson was wearing in honor of his late father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a firefighter who died during the Sept. 11 attack in 2001.

It’s the first time fans are seeing the “Bupkis” actor in several months, which explains why many were shocked to see the progress.

Davidson once had more than 100 tattoos across his body.

Davidson first opened up about his tattoo removal plans in 2020 during a Q&A for his film, “The King of Staten Island.” Film critic Mike McGranaghan was the first to report it.

At the time, he already had the tattoos on his hand removed, but that was only the beginning.

Davidson went on to confirm the plan during a May 2021 interview with Seth Meyers on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” while also revealing the reasoning behind the decision.

“It takes, like, three hours — you have to get there, like, three hours earlier — to cover all your tattoos,” he said of having to cover up his tattoos before filming.

“For some reason, people in movies, they don’t have them that much,” he added.

Davidson has appeared in numerous films and TV shows since starring in “The King of Staten Island,” including “The Suicide Squad,” “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” “Fast X,” “Good Burger 2,” and “Dumb Money.”

He has more roles planned in 2025 and beyond, including “Dog Man,” “Wizards!,” and “The Pickup.”

While Davidson didn’t give a verbal update on his tattoo removal journey, he originally expected the process to be over by the time he turned 30 years old, he told People in a July 2021 interview.

“They said by the time I’m 30, they should all be gone. So they got like two more years left of this,” he said at the time.

Davidson will be 31 on Nov. 16.
