Three men accused of raping a woman at gunpoint before robbing her and her boyfriend are facing prison time, Georgia prosecutors say.

Daquain R. Livingston, 21, Elijah Nil Curney, 20, and Dashawn Andrettie Harris, 18, were convicted Oct. 11 on charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and armed robbery in the July 2021 attack that they forced the victim’s boyfriend to watch, according to the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office.

Curney was also found guilty of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, prosecutors said.

The trio mugged the couple in the early hours of July 21, 2021, at an apartment complex in Duluth, the DA’s office said in a news release. The man and the woman’s cars were parked next to each other.

During the attack, the men assaulted the woman while pointing a gun at her boyfriend, who was forced to watch, prosecutors said.

Investigators said one of the men threatened to “blow her brains out” if she dared to fight back. The trio then stole items from both of the victim’s cars and left, according to the release.

The couple ran in opposite directions and each called the police.

“This is a despicable crime that absolutely could not go unchecked,” Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson said in the release.

“The trauma these defendants inflicted on the victims is unimaginable and these three men deserve to be punished to fullest extent of the law.”

Authorities said it was distinct physical descriptions provided by the victims that helped them catch Livingston, Curney and Harris. Investigators also viewed footage from a Ring camera and matched DNA from a rape kit to Curney, prosecutors said.

There were reports about other cars in the area being broken into, and a gun was taken from one of them, according to authorities. More than a month later, the stolen weapon was found in a car that Curney was riding in, prosecutors said.

Investigators said Curney matched security video from the July 2021, attack, “admitted being present during the rape and partially identified his co-defendants.”

The trio will be sentenced Monday, Oct. 28, prosecutors said.

Duluth is about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
