Convicted sex offender requests female doctor, then assaults her, MA officials say
A convicted sex offender asked for a female doctor at a Massachusetts healthcare center, then exposed himself and assaulted her, prosecutors said.
Christopher Fisher, 58, now faces two counts of indecent exposure, two counts of open and gross lewdness, assault, indecent assault, battery on a person over 14 and possession of a class E substance, according to an Oct. 8 news release from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Fisher’s attorney information was not available in Chelsea County District Court records Oct. 9.
Fisher is a registered level three sex offender, who is someone deemed likely to re-offend, according to the Sex Offender Registry Board.
On Oct. 4, the Chelsea Police Department began investigating a report that a Boston man visited a Massachusetts General Hospital location and asked for a female doctor, citing concerns with his genital area, according to the district attorney’s office.
During the exam, the doctor and a medical assistant evaluated Fisher, but the doctor said she didn’t observe any issues, officials said. He began touching himself and told her to look, then he masturbated, according to prosecutors.
The doctor and assistant reported the incident. During a search, police found a plastic bag of pills in Fisher’s sock, investigators said.
“Incidents like this illustrate how unpredictable a call or interaction can be for health care workers and first responders,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said. “I am very sorry for what these women witnessed while they were simply trying to do their jobs.”
A judge set Fisher’s bond at $50,000 and ordered him to undergo a mental health evaluation, prosecutors said. He’s due back in court Oct. 31.
Records show that Fisher was previously found guilty of open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior in 1997, 1998, 2011 and 2014.
