Hiker finds decomposed human remains near trail in Colorado, deputies say

A hiker found a body near a trail in Colorado, authorities said.

On Oct. 4, the hiker discovered the decomposed remains of a man near Officers Gulch, according to a Facebook post by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers began investigating and said there is no threat to the public at this time.

The body was recovered and sent to the Summit County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 970-423-8919, deputies said.

Summit County is about a 70-mile drive southwest of Denver.
