Powerball player just misses $245 million jackpot but still wins big in Georgia
A Georgia lottery player was one number shy of the Powerball jackpot, but still walked away a winner.
Someone in Lawrenceville matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000 in the Sept. 28 drawing, narrowly missing the estimated $245 million grand prize, according to the Georgia Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased from the QuikTrip on Old Peachtree Road, officials said.
The winning numbers were 3, 11, 13, 24, 39 and red Powerball 22, according to the lottery game’s website. The Power Play multiplier option was 3x.
There were no $2 million or $1 million winners, and no one snagged the grand prize, results show.
The next Powerball drawing is Sept. 30 with an estimated $258 million jackpot.
Lawrenceville is about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
