Julianne Hough calls convicted felon Anna Delvey’s one-word response on DWTS ‘iconic’
When convicted felon Anna Delvey was announced as a contestant on this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” backlash ensued.
Many people, like former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Maks Chmerkovskiy, thought it sent a bad message.
While a guest on The TMZ Podcast, Chmerkovskiy argued that Delvey shouldn’t have been given the opportunity to have such a big platform after she was accused of scamming people and businesses out of thousands of dollars to fund a lavish lifestyle.
On Sept. 24, however, Delvey was voted out of the competition.
In typical fashion, the hosts of the show, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro asked their final questions. And the answer Delvey gave was a surprising one.
As the credits rolled, Hough asked Delvey what she will take away from her time on “Dancing With the Stars.”
Delvey smiled, and gave a one word response, “nothing.”
In response to the attention her answer was getting, Delvey shared a video of the moment on her Instagram.
Hough, who asked Delvey the final question, didn’t seem phased by it and commented on the video, calling the answer “iconic.”
During her time on the show, albeit short, Delvey wore an ankle monitor that she dressed up to match her costumes.
In 2019, Delvey was found guilty of grand larceny, USA Today reports. She served roughly three years of her four to 12-year prison sentence.
Currently, she is on house arrest as she waits for her deportation proceedings to come to an end, according to Vanity Fair.
Delvey is accused of posing as a wealthy German heiress, USA Today reported. The Netflix series “Inventing Anna” is inspired by her.
