Seven Mega Millions players win $1 million each. Where in US were lucky tickets sold?
Seven Mega Millions tickets sold across the United States won $1 million and narrowly missed the $62 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The tickets matched five winning numbers, but not the Mega Ball, in the drawing Tuesday, Sept. 24, the national Mega Millions site said.
Players in Louisiana, MIssouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and two in Virginia won $1 million prizes, the lottery said.
A ticket sold in Michigan matched five numbers and the Megaplier to win $5 million.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $77 million, with a cash option of approximately $38.2 million, for the next drawing Friday, Sept. 27.
The winning numbers were 1, 6, 10, 23 and 27, with a Mega Ball of 18, the lottery said. The Megaplier was 5.
More than 400,000 other tickets sold in the United States won prizes ranging from $2 to $50,000 in the drawing, the lottery said.
The Mega Millions jackpot has gone unclaimed since Sept. 10, when a Texas player hit the $810 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
