Legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick reveals surprising second act
Six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach Bill Belichick has made a surprising announcement. And his former star quarterback, Tom Brady, is responding to it.
At age 72, Belichick is looking in an unlikely place to use his voice.
In a video shared on Instagram, Belichick announced that he was on the platform to stay.
“Hello, everyone. Surprised to see me here? Well, I am, too. Over the past few months, and not being with a team, I haven’t had the opportunity to express my thoughts at a moment’s notice,” Belichick told his newly accumulated followers.
“So now I’m changing that. I tried to join Snapface, but I couldn’t find it,” the legendary coach joked.
“I decided this was a good place for me to land, so I can talk to you and share what I’m up to, because there’s a lot going on. So here I am. Hello, Instaface. See you soon.”
In a statement shared on the platform, Brady responded to the news that Belichick is now on Instagram.
“Alright guys, party’s over. Bill’s here. It was a good run, but we got to shut it down. Welcome, Coach,” Brady jokingly said.
“Welcome to the 21st century,” the retired quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl champion added in the caption.
Brady won six of his seven Super Bowls with Belichick as his coach.
In the comment section of Belichick’s post, several current and former NFL stars warmly welcomed him to the platform. Belichick also reposted his rumored girlfriend’s post.
“This is my formal petition for @BillBelichick to change his handle to @ BillyGoat,” Jordan Hudson wrote alongside a photo of the two of them together. “Welcome to the ‘Gram, Billy!!!!”
“Thanks for the warm reception, J,” he commented back.
