Chipotle wants to “spice up” customers’ orders with a new offering — but first, a test.

Fans can get their first forkfuls of the new chipotle honey chicken at 80 participating restaurants across Nashville and Sacramento, according to the California-based fast-food chain.

It’s Chipotle’s spin on hot honey and is part of a limited time test as the restaurant continues to refine its menu offerings, Chipotle said in a news release.

The chipotle honey chicken is “marinated with seared, smoked adobo (chipotle) peppers, seasoned with savory Mexican spices, and finished with a touch of pure honey.”

The fast-food chain said it did consumer taste tests and received rave reviews before rolling out the sweet and spicy offering in select markets.

“We have had tremendous success with ‘swicy’ innovations and believe Chipotle Honey Chicken will capture fans with a whole new level of excitement,” Chris Brandt, chief brand officer at Chipotle, said in the release.

It’s not the first chicken innovation to hit menus. Chipotle has previously launched the Chicken al Pastor and Pollo Asado as premium options, according to the release.

The chipotle honey chicken is available for a limited time, though the restaurant didn’t say for how long. Pricing information also wasn’t available.
