A passenger in a minivan tried to wrest the wheel away from the driver to crash the vehicle in a bizarre series of events, Oregon police reported.

The man then stabbed a family member in the vehicle in the incident Wednesday, Aug. 7, Gresham police said in a news release.

The person’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The passenger then stole the 2022 Kia Carnival from a hospital parking lot and fled around 8:30 p.m., police said.

Police ask anyone with information on his location to call 911 and warn he may be armed.
