Goofy 14-year-old shelter dog needs a new home for her twilight years. ‘Gentle soul’
Discovered tied up outside an animal shelter, a senior dog named Quinn has now waited more than a year to find a new home.
And at 14 years old, time is running out.
“No senior dog should spend their golden years in a shelter,” the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said in a July 23 Facebook post.
The animal shelter said Quinn had “clearly been through a lot” when she was found tied up outside SPCA’s Philadelphia headquarters in June 2023. Her ears and skin were in “horrible condition,” the group said.
Described as a “goofball,” Quinn was cared for by a medical team, who helped “her feel better.” She is now the oldest dog at the shelter.
“As a senior pup, Quinn has earned the right to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life,” the shelter said on its website. “She’s a gentle soul who loves people and is always happy to see her humans. Quinn is a foodie at heart and will do just about anything for a treat.”
Quinn is a terrier/pit bull mix and is open to meeting families with other dogs or children, the SPCA said.
For information on how to adopt Quinn, contact the Pennsylvania SPCA at 215-426-6300.
“She doesn’t deserve to spend nights in the kennel,” the organization said. “She should be comfy on someone’s couch, snoozing away.”
