Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret customers could be owed money under the terms of a class-action settlement.

The retailers were accused of exposing shoppers’ card information on printed receipts, according to a complaint filed in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

The receipts showed more than the last five digits of some customers’ payment cards, a violation of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, the lawsuit says.

Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret have denied wrongdoing in the case and settled for an undisclosed amount, according to TopClassActions.com.

McClatchy News reached out to the stores for comment June 12 but didn’t receive a response.

Here’s what shoppers should know:

Who’s eligible?

Anyone who shopped at Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret or PINK stores between May 10, 2021, and Aug. 8, 2021, and received a printed receipt can file a claim, according to the administrator’s website.

The settlement excludes customers who made online purchases and only received an emailed receipt, and those who didn’t pay using a debit or credit card.

The “relevant time period” also varies by store, so customers are encouraged to check here.

How do I file a claim?

Claim forms can be submitted online or mailed, according to the administrator’s website. Some shoppers may have received an email with a claim ID and unique PIN.

The deadline to file a claim is Tuesday, July 16.

How much is the voucher?

Eligible shoppers can receive a $15 voucher for purchases they made at Bath & Body Works during the class period, the settlement administrator said.

Customers can get another $15 voucher if they shopped at either Victoria Secret or PINK.

The vouchers are valid for six months from the day they’re received and can be used on a future one-time purchase, according to administrators. Outlet stores and locations outside the U.S. are excluded.

When will I be paid?

A final hearing to approve the settlement is Oct. 24. Vouchers will be disbursed if and when the terms are approved, barring any appeals.

“It’s always uncertain when any appeals will be resolved, and resolving them can take time, perhaps more than a year,” settlement administrators said. “Please be patient.”
