A home burglary suspect was roused from his drunken slumber by armed residents, Georgia police say.

A homeowner’s family arrived to find the man passed out drunk in a bedroom after he’s accused of forcing his way into the home in Lavonia, the city’s police department said in a June 5 Facebook post.

While inside, police said the man found a jar of change and used it to buy “copious amounts” of alcohol. He returned to the home and drank the booze before passing out on the bedroom floor, police said.

That’s when the homeowner’s parents showed up and held him until officers arrived. Photos shared by police show at least one person holding a gun.

“If you do allegedly commit a burglary, don’t allegedly burglarize a residence that is protected by parents who believe in the 2nd Amendment,” police said on Facebook.

The man was arrested and charged with burglary, according to police.

Lavonia is about a 90-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
