UPDATE: Authorities have identified the three children killed in a suspected murder-suicide at a Georgia park.

They were Arianny Rodriguez, 13, of Atlanta; Chadal Rodriguez, 11, of Atlanta; and Carlos Rodriguez, 9, of Atlanta, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Investigators said the children’s mother was at a hospital with another child at the time of the incident. That child, who belongs to the mother and the suspected shooter, was being treated for an unrelated injury, police said.

“The suspect met with the victim’s mother, her three children, and the child they shared together at a local hospital,” police said in a May 8 news release. “After some time, the mother agreed to let the three children go with the suspect to grab a bite to eat while she remained at the hospital.”

The suspected shooter, who wasn’t publicly identified, is not the father of the three children who were killed and was not romantically involved with their mother at the time, authorities said.

Three children and a man were found dead in what police are investigating as a possible murder-suicide at a public park, according to Georgia authorities.

An officer was patrolling at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, and came upon a “suspicious” car parked on a walking trail at Lucky Shoals Park in Tucker, Gwinnett County police said in a news release.

After calling out and getting no response, the officer approached the vehicle and found four bodies inside.

The driver was a man, police said. The children, two girls and a boy, appeared to be elementary- and middle school-aged, according to authorities.

None of the victims have been publicly identified, pending notification of next-of-kin.

Police didn’t release additional details but said the incident is under investigation.

Tucker is about a 15-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
