Man runs from cops, then gets caught on fence, Oregon police say. See his predicament
A 33-year-old found himself in quite the predicament: He fled from police, then ended up stuck on a fence in Oregon, cops said.
Police saw a “suspicious vehicle” at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, in Portland, the city police department told McClatchy News.
They ran the plates and learned the vehicle had been stolen, so they started to follow it, police said.
At one point, police said the vehicle got a flat tire so the driver and passenger ran away.
Police followed the two and found the driver in an uncomfortable position.
He was hanging upside down on a metal fence near a church and couldn’t get down by himself, a photo shows.
Police said they “made sure he was physically okay,” and they helped him off the fence.
He was then arrested on multiple charges, including an outstanding warrant, unauthorized use of a vehicle, eluding a police officer, reckless driving and identity theft.
The 35-year-old passenger was arrested “on a detainer out of Clackamas County,” police said.
