Mom missing for a week after she told kids she was going to the store, Texas family says
A 30-year-old mother has been missing for over a week after she told her kids she was going to run an errand, her Texas family says.
Jennifer Gonzalez, of Pasadena, left her home at about 11 p.m. on June 13, according to the Pasadena Police Department. She hasn’t been seen since.
“She told her kids that she was going to the store to run an errand,” but “she was well dressed & had makeup on,” her mother, Aurora Gonzalez, said in a Facebook post. “We have had no contact with her and are worried sick.”
Her green Ford Expedition was found by a tow truck on June 16, three days after she went missing, according to family.
Jennifer Gonzalez is a mother of six children, ranging in age from 1 to 14 years old, Aurora Gonzalez told KHOU, adding that the kids keep asking after her.
“I simply tell them ‘I can’t give you an answer right now but we’re doing everything possible so your mom can return home to you,’” she said.
Following her disappearance, Gonzalez’s family learned that the Walmart she said she was going to was actually closed when she left, Aurora told KHOU. A man’s shirt and a pack of cigarettes were also found in her SUV, although she doesn’t smoke.
Pasadena police are asking anyone with information about the case to reach out at 713-477-1221.
